Wildflow – Begonia Festival Show Garden
Wildflow is a show garden created for the Ballarat Begonia Festival, designed to feel alive in every moment. Centred around a reclaimed firepit transformed into a wildlife water feature, the space invites birds and insects to pause and connect. A sweeping steel arc frames the garden, guiding the eye through layers of textural native planting that move gently with the wind.
Built from reclaimed and leftover materials, Wildflow embodies the festival’s Circular Gardens theme—celebrating renewal, sustainability, and the beauty of working with what already exists. The hardy native species were chosen for resilience, movement, and biodiversity, creating a thriving, low-maintenance landscape.
The garden was brought to life with the support of Timeless Landscapes, Avalon Nursery, and Ballarat Landscape Supplies, reflecting a strong sense of community and place.
Designed by Althaus Landscape Designs, Wildflow continues its journey beyond the show—reducing waste and reimagining what sustainable design can look like.
